Suicide is a running theme, and a person is shown hanging themselves. There are a couple of brief sex scenes; women are seen in lingerie but not fully nude. One character is a mortician, which means there are several shots involving dead bodies being cut open and processed.
Before even thinking about reading this one, be sure to check trigger warnings. I’m a fan of dark romances and I’ve read a lot of them (ranging from tame to pretty extreme) and this one definitely falls on the pretty extreme end of the spectrum.
I absolutely loved this book. I’ve been meaning to read this for years but I’ve had so many people warn me away (especially towards book 2), and their reasonings are absolutely valid, but I’m glad I finally read this.
This scary horror book is a psychological thriller with a dark romance theme, and when I say dark, it’s indeed dark! The author even gives a warning about its content. The haunting Adeline contains graphic content of violence including child trafficking, human sacrifice, and the killing of children.
So get ready for a scene reheeeing to sex. The special effects made the movie worthwhile, but I’d say it’s for 12 and up.
So, Hunting Adeline is a very heavy book. Granted they both are, but Hunting Adeline is the more mentally/emotionally taxing of the two books in this duet. It does end with a happily ever after for Addie and Zade, but it’s a dark journey to get there.
He’s a 6’4” tall big boy with husky eyes, he’s a stalker who lurks in the shadows snd he won’t stop until he gets what he wants.
It’s a PG13 movie. It has a bit of swearing (military characters talking like military characters), and the native Na’vi dress like people tend to dress in tropical climates with low nudity taboos. Really, it comes down to how you think your kids can handle this kind of thing.
