Tuesday with Morie Book Quotes
“Life is a series of pulls back and forth… A tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubber band. Most of us live somewhere in the middle. A wrestling match…Which side win? Love wins. Love always wins”
……
“Death ends a life, not a relationship.”
…….
“You see, you closed your eyes. That was the difference. Sometimes you cannot believe what you see, you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them, too–even when you’re in the dark. Even when you’re falling.”
…….
“The truth is, once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”
…….
“Well, for one thing, the culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. We’re teaching the wrong things. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture doesn’t work, don’t buy it. Create your own. Most people can’t do it.”
‘………
“I give myself a good cry if I need it, but then I concentrate on all good things still in my life.”
…….
“If you’re trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down on you anyhow. And if you’re trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you. Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone.”
…….
“This is part of what a family is about, not just love. It’s knowing that your family will be there watching out for you. Nothing else will give you that. Not money. Not fame. Not work.”
……..
“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in. Let it come in. We think we don’t deserve love, we think if we let it in we’ll become too soft. But a wise man named Levin said it right. He said, “Love is the only rational act.”

The career of Detroit Free Press sportswriter Mitch Albom took a big turn in 1997 when his book Tuesdays with Morrie was published. It’s the true story of his reunion with Morrie Schwartz, a favorite college professor who was battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Tuesdays with Morrie went on to sell millions of copies.
A simple yet compelling story (based on the author’s experience) that is short yet long-lasting in terms of the effect it has on the reader. Through this book, Morrie teaches you to appreciate your life, feel gratitude for all the little things and live life fully. He teaches you love, faith, acceptance, and laughter.
How Many Words Is 126 Pages? 126 pages is 63,000 words when single-spaced or 31,500 words when double-spaced. A standard single-spaced page contains 500 words.
Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lesson. The average reader will spend 3 hours and 12 minutes reading this book at 250 WPM (words per minute).
Morrie recites a quote by his favorite poet, W. H. Auden, to encompass one of his most important lessons to Mitch: in the absence of love, there is a void that can be filled only by loving human relationships.
To me, Morrie’s death represents the book’s message: you’ll never know the day you’ll leave this earth, but if you live your life to the fullest and realize how valuable your life is you’ll be content. Morrie teaches us to love one another, how to live with no regrets, and how to not fear dying.

Although Morrie is a spiritual person, he doesn’t have a specific religion; instead he takes ideas from different beliefs and adopts them to his own way of thinking. His focus throughout the book seems to be on learning how to live, rather than worrying about whatever the next step is.
